The Outrunners add a branch to Louisville’s wrestling family tree

Posted on July 14, 2026July 14, 2026 by eatsleepwrestle

The OVW tradition is now over 30 years old, and it’s not going anywhere. The last few years have seen new life, new money, and new talent reinvigorating the promotion. Week to week fans know they’re going to see some great matches and future stars. They also know that the next big name surprise – Mick Foley! JBL! Rikishi – is only one social media announcement away.

It was inevitable that a promotion with that long a history, that many alumni, would start to sprout branches in its own backyard. Powerbomb added a branch in June, launching a new and exciting wrestling promotion managed by former OVW announcers Bryan Kennison and Dancing Stevie J. Now The Outrunners are adding a branch of their own.

When the two long-time OVW stalwarts now known as Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd came together at Davis Arena, the fans knew immediately they were witnessing something special. They were heels to start but quickly became the most dynamic force in the building. From their catchy, Miami Vice-inspired entrance music to their retro 80s fluorescent color schemes, they were both out of place (like a flashback to 1983) and a breath of fresh air. In just a few short years they went from selling spinning hand puppets at Davis Arena to the top 3 in merchandise sales for AEW.

The Outrunners partnered with another OVW legend, Jamin Olivencia, to create Dream Pro Wrestling, which debuts Friday July 24 at Headliner’s Music Hall. The boys from Miami (allegedly) have promised a stacked, eclectic card featuring the likes of Dalton Castle, Manscout Jake Manning, Big Beef, Glacier, and Black Machismo. But this is more than just a vanity project. The proceeds from this event will go to help “Rebel” Tanea Brooks, who is battling ALS.

This is pro wrestling at its best, folks. It’s family helping family while giving the fans what is sure to be an unforgettable night.

And I mean, come on, Louisville. The Outrunners are coming home to party. Do you really want to miss an Outrunners party?

It’s too early to tell what the future holds for Dream Pro Wrestling, but it’s exciting to see two OVW legends known for being locker room leaders not only come home but looking out for their sister. Tickets are still on sale, and while the price is higher than most indie shows – this is definitely NOT your average indie show.
