There’s nothing more frustrating for a professional wrestler than an injury that puts you on the sidelines. Marc Hauss is one of many who knows that frustration, but New York wrestler is rebuilt and ready to make his return.
Marc Hauss, who was one of the wrestlers featured in Eat Sleep Wrestle, suffered a torn ACL and a partial tear of the meniscus back in January. “I wrestled and trained on it for about 6 weeks until I really aggravated it at a Warriors of Wrestling taping for Beyond Wrestling.”
Hauss had surgery on his knee on March 2 and was told he would be out until September, but on July 28, six weeks ahead of schedule, his doctor cleared him to wrestle.
“I was supposed to be out 6 months, but thanks to my physical therapist and the love from the fans and most importantly my family and amazing fiancee, I was able to keep pushing.”
Hauss took some time to enjoy life with his family and bride-to-be while he waited for his knee to heel. He also learned a lot about his ability to overcome hardship. “I have never been injured like this before and have felt the lowest of lows, but when you persevere, you come out. Just keep grinding and keep your head up.”
Fans may well see a difference in Marc Hauss when he returns to the ring. “You will still get the fun loving good time when I hit the ring, but now with this injury I realize that I am indeed human and anything can happen at anytime. Now it is time to be more focused and when that bell rings, its game time not playtime. I have a goal and will achieve it instead of wasting the second chance.
When I asked him what his goal was for the remainder of the year, Marc was right to the point. “To keep wrestling. I know that might sound dumb but as of right now everyday im able to step in the squared circle is an accomplishment from where I was at. I am thankful for all of the support and opportunity and just getting in the ring and proving to myself I can still go in a goal enough. From there everything else will fall into place as it should.”
